As part of a tradition at IIMA, the 1 year full time MBA students (PGPX) organized a 5km run through the campus on 24th Oct in IIMA campus as a kickoff to their annual knowledge event – ConneXion. The PGPX ConneXion committees have actively raised Rs 50,000 prize money through their sponsor, SBI, and have also roped in alumni Amitesh Tyagi of the 2011-12 batch to sponsor T-shirts for the runners. The prize money will go to an IIMA social initiative Prayaas, that helps provide quality education and a wholesome childhood to socially unprivileged kids living in slums around IIM A.
The event demonstrated the harmony and bonding of the IIMA community as over 200 students, faculty and family members came together for the most exciting sport event of year. The crisp autumn weather was perfect for running through the picturesque campus that is one of the greenest areas in Ahmedabad. The winners this year are : Harsh Dadhich, Bang Kim, Marco, Varun Kumar and KP Sanjiv Kumar (in men’s category), Yogesh Ramchandra Mali, Vishal R Dantani, Ronak H Sahu, Rajveer K Thakur, Ravi P Patni (kids) and Laure Gallet, Anusha KP, Megha Unial, Radhika Sachdev, Shachi Joshi (Female) and The prizes were distribution by the chief guest , Mr. Rahul Verghese, who is a very well-known marathoner in India and is the founder of Running & Living Infotainment, that annually organizes over 30 runs across India. The winner completed the race in 18 mins and 38 sec.
